05/10/21, Double Confinement Crash, 6600 Old Hanover Road, Heidelberg Township
Around 1:27 p.m. on Monday, May 10, 2021, York County Communications alerted units to box 53-04 on the 6600 block of Old Hanover Road in Heidelberg Township for a report of a vehicle crash with possible entrapment. Units arrived and found a two-vehicle crash, with each driver confined within their vehicle. Rescue 79 arrived on scene and set to work stabilizing the vehicles and completing a door removal on one vehicle, and one door pop on the other. After both patients were removed from the vehicles, they were transported with reportedly minor injuries to a local trauma center by ground ambulance. While units were beginning to clear the scene, Engine 53-1 was requested to another crash without major injury on York Road near Menges Mill Road.
