06/10/21, Working House Fire, 5000 Waltersdorff Road, North Codorus Township
Around 5:10 a.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2021, York County dispatch struck box 12-74 on the 5000 block of Waltersdorff Road in North Codorus Township for a report of a basement fire. Units arrived to a two-story home on a sloped hill, with a walk-out basement, to find smoke showing from the walk-out rear basement. Engine 47-1 pulled an attack line and made entry to the rear, finding heat and smoke but initially having to search for the fire. Crews located the seat of the fire and quickly knocked down the active flames. Units remained on scene for about two hours conducting overhaul before units began to be released by command. No injuries were reported. A fire marshal was requested to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire. Assisting North Codorus Township Fire Department on the scene was Jefferson Fire Company, Porters Fire Company, Seven Valleys Fire Company, Friendship Hose Company of Spring Grove, York New Salem Fire Company, Hanover Area Fire & Rescue, Nashville Volunteer Fire Department, Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire Company, West York Ambulance, Spring Grove Ambulance, and Community Lifeteam.
